Wallpaper Supplies Biogoraphy
Every law-abiding, tax-paying American probably has some tale of woe involving our government. Sometimes, it’s hard to differentiate between run-of-the-mill bureaucracy and Big Brother telling you what you can and can’t do.

Here’s my story. My husband depends upon an insulin pump to control his Type 1 diabetes. Through a Medicare agency, we order the supplies for his unit which requires insulin reservoir, IV preps, infusion set, skin dressing, and inserter. These supplies are not available in a hospital or a retail pharmacy, and we’ve met only two nurse practitioners and no doctor who has any experience with this years-old technology. So, we keep a supply on hand wherever we go.

Recently, he went into a nursing home where only a young CNA had any knowledge of an insulin pump (because she had one). When our pump supplies dwindled, I tried to order from my designated supply company and was told, “No.”

Medicare will not pay for the supplies if a patient is in a nursing home. Trying to help, the facility tried to order and was also told, “No.” I called the company to fuss and was told it was “policy,” and my husband should go back to 3-4 insulin injections daily when the supplies run out.
