Discount Wallpaper Biogoraphy
Jack Poles owns Wallpaper Your World and the Fabric and Wallpaper Outlet on Rawlins Rd., near the corner of Hwy. 124 and 78. Recently, Snellville Patch spoke with Poles about his business.
Patch: Have you always been at this location?
Jack: We moved to this location in October of 2011 in order to increase our visibility. Before that, we were on Ronald Reagan. The store is going on 30 years, and we purchased it six years ago.
Patch: Who owned it previously?
Jack: A woman named Julie Goodroe.
Patch: Do you personally own the business, or is it a partnership?
Jack: I solely own Wallpaper Your World, and my sister (Davida Poles-Minter) and I own the fabric store.
Patch: When did you open the fabric store? How did that come about?
Jack: I had the store for five years, and when we moved I had the opportunity to open another store next door. I thought we should do a fabric outlet store.
Patch: What did you do before you bought the store?
Jack: Interior design. I’m still out and about all the time doing interior design.
Patch: What sets you apart from larger fabric and wallpaper stores?
Jack: Our price, for sure. In our discount fabric store, everything is under $6. If you need something done, we can get it done for you. If you buy the fabric here we can help you design. But the customer service you get is the number one thing.
Patch: How’s business?
Jack: It’s always up and down. It will pick up more once school is back, but overall it’s better than last summer.
Patch: Tell me about your work in interior design.
Jack: I charge by the job and start with a consultation. In that consultation you tell us what your dream is and we’ll put it together. We’ll give you a quote and you can pick and choose what you want.
Patch: What do you have in stock?
Jack: We have 200 patterns in stock that you can come in and buy without having to order it first.
Poles has redesigned Premiere Dermatology and Levett's Funeral Homes, along with many homes in metro Atlanta.
