Wallpaper* September '12 Fashion Issue

Wallpaper* is once again dedicating its entire September issue to its favourite fashion designers as captured by the magazine's unique design lens. The issue is a showcase of fashion stories influenced by different modes of architecture; from gothic glory to brutalist force. The September newsstand cover, shot by Pierpaolo Ferrari and styled by Francesca Cefis, depicts a Madonna figure enrobed in Louis Vuitton, a porcelain crown and crucifix.
Stage Struck
The haute gothic revival being felt this season is creating some serious drama. Featuring feathered Gucci jackets to Sergio Rossi chokers, Susie Q and Leo Siboni set Wallpaper's darkest shoot in coffins, eery frameworks and midnight lighting to create a minimal and haunted look at this season's fur, skins and leathers.
Like a Virgin
Shot by Pierpaolo Ferrari, Wallpaper's 'Like a virgin' feature showcases the modern Madonna draped in uber luxe Lanvin, Valentino, Salvatore Ferragamo, Marnia and YSL. Styled by Francesca Cefis, the holy figures are central to the theatrical awe of the Baroque-inspired piece; adorning feathers and floral headdresses, fur collars and Dior floor-length cobalt gowns.
Leder of the Pack
Wallpaper's brutalist piece accentuates the grey-scaled, sharp-cornered heavy aesthetic of brutalist architecture in tailored suits and Rick Owens leather. Heavily framed and shot in black and white, Marton Perlaki's photography of the menswear garments is aloof and gazed, sharp and harsh to reflect the solid concrete foundation on which they stand.
