Thousands of Android devices are thought to have been infected by a strain of Chinese malware which sends costly SMS messages to earn cash for its creators.
Some reports have claimed that over 500,000 Android devices are infected with the malware, which is detected by  as Andr/SMSZomb-A.
Users are tricked into believing that they are installing GIF wallpaper onto their Android device, and a provocative message is shown suggesting that a secondary app is installed that would allow permanent use of the images.

The wallpaper on show at the museum was all found in and around the town of Epsom and dates between 1680 and 1720.
Sean Khan, who collected the samples of the wallpaper from homes in Epsom and wrote a book about the pieces he found, explained that Epsom was the first town to be built with brick after the fire of London and the smooth walls enabled wallpaper to go up.
He said: "It is the first wallpaper as we understand it and it is in Epsom, but they called it paper tapestry. It put Epsom on the map."
Jeremy Hart, the curator of Bourne Hall museum, explained that the wallpaper was a symbol of status in the 1600s and it gave people an identity.
He said: "The people were constantly watching each others backs. You had a lot of people asking 'who am I' and this really is status that you could paste up on your walls.
"It fascinates people, partly because you can relate to it, we've all done decorating but also because it is unveiling this history behind a lot of buildings.
"One man has been unveiling history in his house, uncovering layers of history going back to the 15th century. Part of that is a physical process of uncovering the layers of wallpaper."
David Brooks added: "This local history in Ewell is part of national and international history. This is some of the earliest wallpapers, not just in this country, but in the world."

Wallpaper's August 2012 issue,, is arguably one of its most exciting editorial efforts of the year. Every year the magazine commissions designers to team up with craftsmen and manufacturers to produce "unique furniture, fittings, foodstuffs, fashion and more." This year brands like Hermes, Kartell, Minotti, Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton and Guerlain have paired with designers like David Rockefeller, Madeline Weinrib and Aldo Bakker to create finely crafted, limited edition textiles, dishware, furniture, dog houses and objects that defy description (one might be described as an effervescent lighting element). Here are the best of the very best.

Drivers who reach the end of Israeli Route 232 purportedly face a choice: a sign points them either northwest, toward the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip, or southeast, toward the Nitzana border crossing between Egypt and Israel.
But the intersection – located at the meeting point of Israel, Gaza and Egypt – is really a dead end; drivers cannot proceed in either direction. Rafah has been under Egyptian control since Israel’s disengagement from Gaza in 2005. And a year ago, Israel closed off the road that runs to Nitzana, along the country’s southern border.
What drivers do meet at the end of the route is a simple red and white roadblock. To the left is the beginning of Israel’s security fence on the border of the Sinai Desert that is scheduled to be completed this year. To the right is Israel’s Kerem Shalom border crossing with Gaza, which is closed to civilians. Next to that is a concrete wall separating Gaza and Israel. Litter dots the immediate area.

"Fashion and interiors inform and influence one another," said Karen Gentile, chairman of the Textile and Surface Design Department at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. "The prints that we are seeing now in fashion are carrying over into the home."
Some are retro, some are refined, some exotic, splashy or tailored.
"Fashion comes and goes, and so do style choices for the home," Miller said. "Many of these prints and patterns bring their history with them."
For example, the bold op-art Marimekko fabrics of the '70s are seeing a resurgence.
"They were playful and popular decades ago, but now they're back, and they're just as fresh today," Miller said. "Vera prints, too," she added, in reference to the colorful scarves of the era.
Chintz, also, is identified with a time and place.
"In the 1950s, living room draperies used to be done in floral chintz no matter what else was in the room, so it's a reflection of that time," Miller said. "But it was reinterpreted in the '80s and looked very fresh and up-to-date then."

Dean Zimmerman, chief curator of the Western Reserve Historical Society, has already visited her collection three times; Stephen Harrison, curator of decorative arts and design at the Cleveland museum, has also stopped by for a look. They know that, early in her career, Luntz's line garnered her top design awards from the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Boston Institute of Contemporary Art.
"She offers a window on art and design in Cleveland that I was completely unaware of," says Zimmerman. "She competed very well with all the big design firms in New York and came up with fabulous designs, in the colors we now associate with each era."
Most of us can take a look through our own cupboards, or at old snapshots of family suppers, or visit a neighbor's house, and we probably will turn up at least one example of a pattern that was created courtesy of Joan Luntz.

Contemporary romantic vintage design may sound like an oxymoron and the way it is constructed may be open to a variety of interpretations, but this wide term has its genesis in a simple look.
The move to romantic vintage is said to spring from a desire to create secure, homely surroundings as an antidote to current economic uncertainties and to the consumerism of the past decade.
US designer Rachel Ashwell, founder of the Shabby Chic brand, defines the look as incorporating character pieces that have picked up a rich patina of human history. Paint expert Annie Sloan sees romantic vintage as softly relaxed with texture and character. And Christina Strutt, of Cabbages and Roses, suggests it comprises old, antique or revamped pieces. All are agreed that romantic vintage suits most styles, sizes and periods of home.
The essence of romantic vintage is its sense of enduring values of homemaking and of tradition. There is a faded charm about even new pieces and older chipped, scratched or dented furnishings are treasured for their honesty.
Although colours come from across the palette, their texture is gentle; traditional paints from companies like Farrow and Ball and Fired Earth are perfectly suited. Wallpapers and fabrics have a muted quality whether they sport country flowers or Fifties polka dots and furniture is softly rounded in understated proportions.
